Snyder ISD Board of Trustees Approve Staff Bonus
On Thursday, November 10, 2020, Snyder ISD Board of Trustees approved a resolution to issue a one-time bonus incentive for active employees of Snyder ISD. Board President, Brad Hinton said, “Although we could never repay our staff for the long hours and hard work they have put in this school year, tonight, we approved a resolution to issue a one-time bonus incentive for active employees of Snyder ISD who have stuck with us through this first semester. We appreciate their extraordinary commitment to providing a quality education while keeping our community as safe as possible.”
The motion to approve the COVID bonus of $750 passed unanimously.
Eligible staff will receive the bonus next Friday, December 18th. This includes all active employees who were employed prior to November and who did not resign during the first semester. Substitutes who have worked at least 20 days this school year are also eligible to receive the bonus and their payout will be based on the number of days worked. “We have some substitutes who have worked with us for 40 days or more; we want to thank them too,” said Dr. Eddie Bland, Superintendent of Snyder ISD. “Our staff is doing a remarkable job during this pandemic. The additional COVID-19 responsibilities and stress for our entire staff are immense and they continue with superhuman efforts to take care of our students.”
“I know first hand that working in education is as challenging as it is rewarding,” said Ralph Ramon, SISD Board of Trustees Vice President. “Schools across the country are facing obstacles like never before because of COVID-19; It’s no different at Snyder ISD. We appreciate our staff’s extraordinary commitment to providing a quality education while keeping our community as safe as possible.”
