🍕Do you think about Language Arts lessons while eating pizza? Mrs. Jones' kindergarten class is learning about the main ideas of texts and supporting evidence. In this lesson, the main idea is the whole pizza and the details are the pizza toppings. The class made mini pizzas after reading a story to reiterate the main ideas and evidence in the book. This is just one of the many examples of how our talented teachers make learning meaningful and fun! #webelieveinsisd #learningisfun #elementaryeducation #snydertigers

Instead of a gift exchange, students in Mrs. Soliz and Mrs. Vasquez’s classes brought items for those in need. We love seeing our students put the needs of others before their own wants. 💛🖤 If you are interested in helping those in need or if you or someone you know is in need of help, please visit our community resources page on the Snyder ISD website: https://snyderisdtx.sites.thrillshare.com/page/communityresources #Webelieveinsisd #reasonfortheseason #snydertigers

🎉🎉 SPS Growth Parade 🎉🎉 This morning, we were able to celebrate SPS students who have shown growth this semester! Each teacher nominated two students from their classrooms for us to cheer on. The whole school was invited to celebrate each student and their growth. We are thankful for our students and their hard work! ❤️

We know Thanksgiving has come and gone, but the memories will last a lifetime! Have you read the story, "Stone Soup"? Ms. Arredondo's students and other Pre-K classes at Snyder Primary Elementary School learned about this European folk story. Hungry strangers convince the townspeople to share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys. What a great lesson about friendship and working together! #snydertigers #webelieveinsisd #stonesoup

Mrs. Leija’s 2nd-grade dual-language homeroom class celebrated Día de los Muertos by creating an ofrenda for their dear loved ones. The Dual-Language program at Snyder ISD isn't just about learning a second language, it's about gaining a deeper understanding of different cultures too! #webelieveinsisd #snydertigers #snyderisd #duallanguage #bilingualeducation

The Dual-Language program isn't just about learning a second language, it's about gaining a deeper understanding of different cultures too! Miss. Stewart, the art teacher at Snyder Primary School, continued their studies of this holiday during art class. Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students used watercolor crayons to color a pre-made design or to create their own design of a sugar skull. The 2nd and 3rd-grade students painted rocks to look like a sugar skull. Día de los Muertos is celebrated from October 31st through November 2nd. It largely originated in Mexico and is celebrated by people of Mexican heritage elsewhere. It is a holiday of joyful celebration rather than mourning. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died. These celebrations can take a humorous tone, as celebrants remember funny events and anecdotes about the departed. #webelieveinsisd #diadelosmuertos #bilingualprogram #duallanguageeducation #snydertigers

ALL CAMPUSES EXCEPT SNYDER PRIMARY SCHOOL WILL RELEASE ON THEIR REGULAR SCHEDULE. Snyder Primary School is dismissing early due to weather. Specific information was sent out to families on ParentSquare. The early release is due to less overhead coverage to keep students out of the bad weather. Snyder Intermediate will dismiss at the usual time, but there will be no tutorials or UIL practices today. Snyder Junior High and Snyder High School will release on schedule. Tennis matches will be rescheduled. We will continue to notify families via ParentSquare, facebook, and the SISD website of any other cancellations or schedule changes.

It’s Dot Day! This week, students at Snyder Primary School read “The Dot,” written by Peter H. Reynolds. In the story, a student named Vashti felt like she couldn’t draw — but her art teacher wouldn’t accept that. “Just make a mark, and see where it takes you,” the teacher said to Vashti. “The Dot” is used by teachers worldwide to encourage creativity and instill confidence in students. #dotday #nationaldotday #webelieveinsisd

“One of the worst days in America’s history saw some of the bravest acts in Americans’ history. We’ll always honor the heroes of 9/11. And here at this hallowed place, we pledge that we will never forget their sacrifice.” —President George W. Bush at the Pentagon in 2008 On Friday, we payed tribute to our first responders and armed forces. Today we remember and continue to honor those who stand ready to protect, serve, and sacrifice for our freedoms, safety, and country.

While we celebrate homecoming today, we also honor those who serve. Before tonight's game, we will pause to reflect on the commitment and sacrifice of our first responders, active-duty military, and veterans. We hope you will join us for this special tribute at Tiger Stadium before the game at 6:30pm.
