As we come to the end of Teacher Appreciation Week I am compelled to proclaim that every day should be “Teacher Appreciation Day”! As I have said many times before, short of the clergy there is not a more honorable profession than being a teacher. Every day teachers inspire students, change lives and truly shape the world.
Our teachers do so much more than just teach reading, writing, and arithmetic; they also deal with countless issues that students bring with them to school each and every day. Snyder ISD is blessed to have amazing teachers, so on this last day of Teacher Appreciation Week, I say THANK YOU!
Sincerely,
Eddie Bland, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools, Snyder ISD

The first round of STAAR testing begins tomorrow! Fourth grade students and Snyder High School English 1 and English 2 students will test this week.
Tue 4/27 • STAAR: English 1
Tue 4/27 • STAAR: 4th Grade Writing
Thu 4/29 • STAAR: English 2
Here are a few last-minute reminders:
1. Go to bed at a reasonable time. (10 hours of sleep is optimal.)
1. Eat a good breakfast (with protein if possible). Arrive early if you plan to eat breakfast at school.
2. Be to school early to have plenty of time to get ready for testing. We start testing at 8:00 am.
3. Students will need their laptops FULLY charged! This is important so that they don't have to worry about running out of battery during the test. The teachers only have a certain amount of outlets and we want students to be sitting in their optimal spot to be successful.
4. Encourage your child and tell them to do their best. They have been working very hard and we are proud of them!
Parents have also been sent specific information from their school principals through ParentSquare.
To view the complete SISD STAAR testing schedule, visit our website www.snyderisd.net or click on the "events" icon in your ParentSquare app. Specific test days for third-grade students will be announced by your child's teacher.

Kindness missions were executed throughout the Snyder Primary School campus this week! In addition to fun dress up days, SPS Counselors Amy Crist and Lacee Wall delivered top secret missions to students.
Missions included writing letters of appreciation to Snyder police officers, firefighters, EMS, and Cogdell hospital workers. They also left tokens of appreciation for school staff such as school nurses, librarians, office staff, custodians, cafeteria workers, principals, computer lab teachers, PE teachers, music teachers, and arts.
Students also wrote messages of kindness on index cards to put in library books and put outside on cars.
How can you surprise someone with a random act of kindness today?

Welcome back! We can't wait to see all of the students and staff back on campus Monday, March 22nd. Let's finish the year strong!

We are grateful to ALL of our staff for their hard work this year. We hope you will take a moment to thank them too.
We headed back to the Primary School to recognize more teachers for their resilience and perseverance to find creative solutions for our students!
Snyder Primary School wants to say “You’re all that and a bag of chips!” We hope they can find time to kick back and relax for a few minutes with a bag of chips and a Sonic drink. 😊

Please visit with your child and remind them that it is important that they do their best on this test. There are celebrity sightings throughout Snyder Primary School library this week! Second-grade students chose a famous person to study and then read a biography about that person’s life. From the information they learned, they completed both a written project and a “bottle buddy.” Scroll through the pictures for a virtual viewing of their biography projects!

Readers & Leaders! Each morning, Snyder Primary School principals recognize students who have reached their leadership or reading step goals. This morning, they recognized 30 students for reading and 30 students for leadership!
📖 Students earn "steps" for reading. Fifteen minutes = 1 step. For every 100 steps, they receive a reward!
⭐️ Students earn Leader Bucks for dozens of leadership traits: being a good friend, working hard in class, behaving well for the substitute, and tidiness, just to name a few.
