Congratulations to the District Spelling Bee Champion Percy Stelluti and Runner-up Sofia Vasquez! Percy will represent Snyder ISD at the Regional Spelling Bee in April!
We also want to recognize these super spellers who competed in the District Bee. Each participant won their grade level bee and studied over 400 words in preparation for the competition. We are proud of each of you!

We have water! Classes at Snyder Primary School will resume as usual on Wednesday, February 14th.
We want to thank the City of Snyder and everyone who worked to restore water to the Snyder Primary Campus. We also want to thank our operations and custodial staff, who ensured everything was in proper order and ready for students and staff. Do you know what #schoolcounselors really do? Spoiler alert: It’s a lot!
This week, we’re celebrating their dedication to all students. Thank you to our school counselors, Mrs. Wall, Mrs. Faulkenbery, Mrs. Cowley, Ms. Beaver, and Mrs. Andrews! #NSCW24 #snydertigers

What will it be...6 more weeks of winter or sunshine and spring time? ☀️❄️

The kindergarten teachers are feeling every bit of 100 today! Happy 100th day of school!

It is always fun to visit the zoo! Mrs. Thamez and Mrs. Ceballos' 1st-grade dual language classes turned their classrooms into a zoo. The students researched different animals, wrote about their findings, and created dioramas depicting their habitats. They invited other classrooms and their families to visit their zoo and even made maps and helpful signage for the visitors. #snydertigers #duallanguage

During the afternoon route, the driver of Bus 11 overheard a student make a concerning statement to another student. They immediately informed the school resource officer and administration, and the bus stopped at the intermediate school. Two students were interviewed and exited the bus. Their parents were notified of the situation. The rest of the students are safe and on their way home.
Students, teachers, and families should report any possible threat or concern to the right authorities. We appreciate the students and the bus driver who reported the situation promptly, enabling the authorities to respond quickly.
How to Report a Concern
If you observe any suspicious activity or have any concerns, report them immediately to the school administration or the police. For non-urgent concerns, you may use the “See Something, Say Something” form, which you can find at www.snyderisd.net/safety.

Teaching, practicing, and reinforcing good habits is essential in elementary school. Snyder Primary School embraces the "7 Habits" to teach kids skills that will help them not just be successful students, but all-around great human beings!
Habit heroes are a way for teachers to recognize their students who have been following the seven habits throughout the week. When a student is nominated, they get a special leader buck, a leader stick, and they get to sign their name on the habit wall of fame. Ask your kids about the 7 Habits to learn more!

Snyder Primary School has finally received the ribbons and metals for the UIL students who placed! We are so proud of these students and their hard work and dedication! Thank you for supporting them along the way! 🎗️🏅🧠♥️

Mrs.Thamez’s first-grade class has been learning about adjectives. They practiced describing their classmates using bucket-filling adjectives written on sticky notes! How can you fill someone's bucket today?

Mrs. Leija's Dual-language students paired up to read, reflect, and write about the contributions Martin Luther King Jr. made to our society. In the dual language program, students often work in pairs, each using a different colored pencil to show their work and formulate responses in both English and Spanish.

Mrs. Arellano and her kindergarten class rang in the New Year and the new semester yesterday! We hope everyone had a great first day back at school!

With Christmas falling on a Monday this year, we know it gives little time for staff and families to travel and prepare for the holiday. I’ve spoken with board members and principals, and we’ve determined our Friday activities can be shifted to accommodate a little extra time off. Therefore, schools will dismiss early on Friday, December 22, 2023.
I want to thank our staff and students for their work this fall semester, and I look forward to an even better Spring. We still have important work to do in school. Let’s finish the year strong: be present daily and make the most of every moment.

In the spirit of giving, students in Mrs. Greene and Ms. Herrera’s 2nd grade class collected food for the Scurry County Food Cupboard and made a special trip to deliver it this morning. These students collected 210 pounds of food for our community. They learned an invaluable life lesson: even the smallest donation can make a huge difference in the lives of others in our community.

Our primary, intermediate, and junior high Academic UIL teams compete today! Please join us in wishing them all the best. We know they will represent Snyder well!
