Back to School Checklist: 2023-2024 School Year
Getting ready for the school year can be overwhelming, but don't worry, we've got you covered! Below is a helpful checklist to ensure that you stay on track and don't miss anything important.
1. Enrollment / Registration
NEW Student Enrollment is OPEN NOW!
Step 1: Begin enrollment here: www.snyderisd.net/welcome
Step 2: Once enrolled, complete online registration verification between July 20-Aug 5 bit.ly/SISDSkyward. If you have not received your Skyward username and password after completing enrollment, please contact the school.

If you forgot your username or password, please submit a request here: bit.ly/SISDSkyward. This a busy time for requests, so please be patient as we handle these requests manually at each campus.
2. Verify Immunizations are Up-to-Date
Immunizations are required to come to public school. Returning students, to check what records we have on file:
Log in to Skyward bit.ly/SISDSkyward
Select your student’s name from the top drop-down menu
Select "health info" in the left column.
View the vaccinations we have on record for your child and if any are out of compliance.
Overdue? Schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider or call the Scurry County Health Unit to make arrangements for needed vaccinations asap.

3. Download/Update the ParentSquare App:

This is the primary tool for receiving important information from the school, and an easy way to communicate with your child’s teachers.
Don't forget to turn your notifications on! If you have questions about ParentSquare, contact your child's
campus or email questions@snyderisd.net If you are new to the district, welcome! Once you have completed online registration verification in Skyward it will take 24 hours for your account to become active in ParentSquare. Once you download the app, your username will be the email you used to register your student for school.
4. Complete Free & Reduced Lunch Application Forms
Forms were mailed home and are also available at your child’s school.
Whether or not you qualify, completing these forms will also give you 50% discount on technology fees!
5. Load Lunch Accounts (or get current on last year’s account):

6. Pay Technology Fees:
Students in grades K-12 will need to pay a technology fee at the beginning of each school year. Each student in grades PreK-12 will be issued an electronic device to use during the school year.
1 student: $50 ($25 with discount)
2 students: $70 ($35 with discount)
3 or more students: $80 ($40 with discount)

7. Get School Supplies

9. Review the Dress Code
The district's dress code is established to teach grooming and hygiene, prevent disruption, and minimize safety hazards. We've aligned the dress codes for Snyder Primary & Intermediate Schools and Snyder Junior High & High Schools to simplify things. 10. Review Arrival & Dismissal Schedules
Don't forget to allow extra time and patience during pickup and dropoff, especially during the first month of school as everyone adjusts to a new routine! 12. Make plans to get involved! Contact your child’s school to learn about Parent-Teacher organizations, booster clubs, and volunteer opportunities.
Anyone who volunteers on campus must complete a background check.

15. SJH & SHS ONLY: Submit Physicals & Online Paperwork by July 31
SJH & SHS Athletics, SJH & SHS Special Olympics, SHS Cheer, & SHS Marching Band: You MUST have BOTH an up-to-date Physical and your Online Arbiter Forms completed before July 31st, or you will not be allowed to participate. Learn more: www.snyderisd.net/athletics
