Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
At Snyder ISD, we are committed to maintaining safe, healthy, and focused learning environments for all students. As part of this commitment, we have installed vape detectors on our campuses. These devices are part of our ongoing efforts to discourage vaping and promote a healthier environment for everyone.
Vaping is not permitted on school property. It violates both state law and school policy, and it poses significant health risks. The vape detectors are designed to help deter this behavior.
When a vape detector is triggered, school administrators are notified and will take appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. Please note that the contents of vape devices can have serious consequences, especially if they contain THC or other illegal substances. Any consequences will align with the findings of an investigation, the Student Code of Conduct, and applicable school policies. The best choice for your health and future is clear: don’t vape.
People who vape can become addicted to nicotine. This can make it hard to quit, but you don't have to do it alone. For example, trained quit coaches are available via 1-800-QUIT-NOW to provide confidential help at no cost to callers. There are several free and low-cost resources available, some of which are designed specifically for teens who vape.
Below are the consequences of vaping at school at Snyder ISD for the 2024-2025 school year:
