The UIL Academic team placed 2nd at the district meet March 23. Eleven students will compete at region (Rn) April 22-23. Students competed in accounting, current issues, editorial writing, feature writing, headline writing, news writing, informative speaking, LD Debate, Literary Criticism, Persuasive Speaking, Poetry Interp, Prose Interp, Biology, Science, Spelling and Vocab.

Each of these students placed in the top 6 in their events.
2. The accounting team placed first at the meet with Nguyen placing 1st, Hodge 2nd and Wagner 5th.
3. The journalism team placed first. Stone placed 1st in news writing, 2nd- feature writing, 2nd-editorial writing, 3rd- headline writing; Wilkinson - 4th-news writing, 6th-headline; Whitefield, 6th-news writing; Crist: 2nd-headlines, 5th-editorial. Torres: 6th-feature.
4. The speech team was 2nd overall at the District UIL meet.
In Prose: Will Haley was 2nd and Shelby Powell was 4th
In Poetry: Baylee Green is district champ and Allie Beck placed 3rd
In LD debate Sidni Hunter placed 3rd and was 2nd in informative speaking.
