Snyder ISD Board of Trustees Ends Relationship with Responsive Education Solutions
Snyder, Texas, July 9, 2021 -- After much deliberation, the Snyder ISD Board of Trustees has decided to exercise a clause in our contract to end their relationship with Responsive Education Solutions.
“We appreciate the vision, support, and diligence provided by Responsive Education Solutions. We share the same goal, to do what’s best for students,” said Ralph Ramon, Snyder ISD Board of Trustees President. “While we agree that changes needed to be made at Snyder Junior High School in order to address academic performance, we believe that it is in the best interest of our students and community to move in a different direction. On behalf of the board and Snyder ISD I want to thank Responsive Ed for supporting us in our time of need.”
“They stepped up to assist our district when we needed them,” said Dr. Eddie Bland, Superintendent of Schools for Snyder ISD. “Our district is unique, and being in a rural community presents a different set of challenges. We’ve learned a lot in this process and Responsive Education Solutions has been an integral part of the shift that needs to take place at the junior high school.”
Part of this shift is to provide more specific interventions for students who are struggling while allowing students who are succeeding opportunities to further their education.
“Our district is unique and being in a rural community presents a different set of challenges,” said Bland. “Snyder ISD is committed to providing strong academic programs through our P-TECH model. With our district having a single feeder pattern for students (one campus each for primary, intermediate, junior high and high school) the vertical alignment of the curriculum PK-Grade 12 is critical if we are to achieve the successes we desire for our students.”
Bland continued, “During this process, we have learned more about our needs as a district and discovered other options that can help us achieve our goals. We appreciate Responsive Education Solutions and their willingness to support us when we were in need, and we can assure you our commitment remains to provide the best educational opportunities for our students.”
The district plans to hold meetings with junior high staff, families, and the community as soon as possible to discuss the transition and answer questions. Meeting notifications will be posted on ParentSquare, SISD social media pages, and the SISD website. The district will provide updates as soon as they are available. Individuals with questions are encouraged to email questions@snyderisd.net or call 325-574-8900.
