We believe it’s important for students to see beyond the day-to-day life in a rural community and learn about opportunities for life and careers that they may not have considered. That’s why we are grateful for people like Teresa Bridwell with Texas Workforce Solutions! She visits with students in Coach Koonce’s career classes to discuss career options and employability skills. Students also benefit from virtual job shadows.
During her most recent visit, Snyder Junior High students learned about careers in healthcare. They talked about different careers, day-to-day tasks of those careers, education necessary, and potential salaries.
Jobs that are discussed have to meet three criteria. They must be in demand, showing growth, and able to make a living wage in this region.
We believe students should dream big while being equipped with practical information, tools, and strategies to help them achieve their goals!
